Steampunk/Antique (Fluorescent Mineral) | Rare Mineral Display

BOTRYOIDAL URANINlTE, AUTUNlTE (Fluorescent) & THORIANlTE CUBIC CRYSTAL

This is the most recent rare mineral display that I have curated and assembled. Originally, I was not going to list this one for purchase - but I have too many other projects in the works.

The base is constructed of a solid wood in which solid brass screws were installed. I finished the wood base with multiple coats of a dark walnut wood finish and multiple top protective poly coats. To attach the minerals, copper wire was used. The glass dome is secured with a high quality silicone gel. Non-slip pads have been affixed to the base for a solid foundation. Wooden plaques (provided by the superb collection these were purchased from) with the specimen information have been affixed to the bottom of the base listing the rare minerals included with the locales:

- BOTRYOIDAL URANlNlTE: [Příbram, Czech Republic]

- AUTUNlTE (fluoresces in UV light!): [Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, China]

- THORIANlTE CRYSTAL (metallic/cubic): [Betroka, Madagascar]

These rare specimens were personally selected and acquired from well established collections.
