Encased in an acrylic mineral display box is a specimen of Listwanite/Listvanite. This was a self-find of mine back in October, 2024 from Hamilton, Washington, USA. [Hamilton is near Marblemount, North Cascades]

I had an XRF completed and the green mineral is primarily Magnesium-dominant. The two principal minerals appear to be talc and a Serpentine group mineral, most likely Antigorite with a likely admixture of platy Brucite.

The specimen is secured with mineral tack and could easily be removed, if desired. I've included a hand-written collection label on linen paper (recycling of my extraneous art prints) with the following information:

LISTWANITE

Collected: October 29, 2024

Locality: Hamilton, Skagit County, Washington, USA Specimen dimensions: 3.5cm x 2.5cm

I'm excited to finally have a specimen that was personally collected to offer. I noticed a hand sized boulder that had a fractured face with the most stunning green color. After cracking it open, the minty/sea foam green persisted throughout with inky black and iron oxide appearing inclusions. The outside of the stone was covered in an orange iron oxide like crust which is still visible at the base of the specimen. The last photo is of the original host rock before cracking it open.
